How do I book an appointment?

Please take a look at our “Book Now” page for full instructions.

I have mobility issues, are the paddocks suitable for me to use?

At My Happy Hounds, we are committed to ensuring everyone can come and use the paddocks. Each paddock has its own dedicated car park with plenty of space to manoeuvre. The paddocks are naturally uneven, and as such people experiencing mobility problems may struggle to manage alone. However, we are committed to making sure our provision is accessible to all. Therefore, we ask that you make contact with us prior to booking and we will arrange to meet and accompany you for the duration of your visit.

Do I need to have an induction on my first visit?

If you’ve visited enclosed dog fields before, are confident with how they operate and happy to proceed, then we are happy for you to do so. However, if you’re new to dog fields or would like an induction please do let us know. We would be happy to meet you to show you around the enclosure to who you how things work. There is no charge for an induction and the choice is yours.

Do you have any toilets on site?

Yes, we have toilet facilities on site. These are to be used at your convenience when you visit our paddocks. We ask each of our guests to leave these facilities as you would wish to find them - to help create a happy, safe environment for all our visitors.

What's the combination number for the lock on the gate?

Each paddock has its own secure parking area with a coded padlock. You will receive the entry code as part of the booking confirmation.

How many cars can I bring?

There’s room to park 2 cars comfortably within each of the paddock car parks. Whilst the car park is gated we ask you to keep dogs on a lead until you enter the paddocks. Please close the car park gate behind you while using the paddock.

What equipment is present in the paddocks?

Both paddocks have lots of activities for your dog to enjoy. Both paddocks have a poo bin, bucket of soil to fill in any holes, seating, sand pit, sensory areas and wild areas of long grass all of which provide an enriching experience for your dog. Whilst the paddocks have been designed with sensitive dogs in mind they are suitable for all to enjoy. Harvey’s paddock is designed to be a relaxing calming environment. There are scent walls on the field sheter to explore and for training. There's also a small caravan that can be used during your visit. Located furthest from the road it has no passing cars so if your dog is sensitive to traffic this may be your preferred paddock. Nellie’s paddock also includes agility equipment (weaves, hurdles and tunnel) and parkour activities for the more energetic dog. Both car park areas have a standpipe with drinking water and a boot/dog wash station.

Pet and human first aid equipment is held at reception.

Will there be other dogs in the paddock?

No – your booking of paddock is for exclusive hire. Your booking provides access for you and your dogs only. There may be other dogs using the facilities on site, but they will not be using the same paddock as yourself.

Paddock bookings are for 50 minutes with a 10 minute gap between clients to ensure there is no crossover.

Is the paddock safe and secure?

The fences are checked daily to ensure no vulnerabilities are spotted. The fences are 6ft high so, if your dog can jump this, it might not be the place for you. Your dog remains your responsibility at all times and that we ask you to actively supervise them whilst using the facilities. However, please do report any issues to our team, so that they can be dealt with promptly.

Every effort is made to ensure the safety of you and your dog, but we understand at times, accidents can happen. As per our terms and conditions, you use the paddocks entirely at your own risk. To help us keep it safe, please be considerate of other clients on site and leave the paddock as you would wish to find it. Please do not leave chewed balls etc in the paddock as these can be a choking hazard. All food/treats should be taken with you as some dogs may be protective/allergic to food left which may cause an issue for the next dogs.

Please use the bins provided, there are some for dog poo and some for for general rubbish. Please wear appropriate footwear, especially when it might be wet and muddy.

Can I use the field for professional use?

Dog trainers/walkers etc are more than welcome to hire the paddock but their own insurance will be needed whilst here.
Please contact us directly before booking.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, of course, but please make sure they are under your care and control at all times. Please be mindful of noise nuisance to our neighbours and other clients.

Please ensure children do not climb on the fence, use the agility equipment/tunnel or paddling pool, which is designed for dog use only, as per our terms and conditions. Please be mindful of child/dog safety whilst using the paddocks. We will take no responsibility for any injury caused whilst using the paddock.

How many dogs/people Can I bring?

For everyone’s enjoyment we limit the number of dogs in each paddock to 4 at any one time (unless by prior agreement and in exceptional circumstances). We also ask that there is a maximum of 4 people in the paddock at any one time.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

The health and welfare of dogs using our field is our priority. We would prefer that your dogs are up to date with all recommended vaccinations/boosters (or titre)/ flea/worming treatments.

DO NOT ATTEND THE FIELD IF YOUR DOG IS UNWELL or has been in the past 48 hours.

If you do come across any it would be really appreciated if you would help and pick it up, extra poo bags are kept by the poo bin. If you’re concerned that poo has been deliberately left behind then please do report the matter to us.
